Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is there a sectional cut off in the FCI AG 3 exam?

No, there is no sectional cut off in the FCI AG 3 Phase 1 and Phase 2 exams. Note that, you need to clear the cut offs of both Paper 1 and Paper 2 in Phase 2.

How does FCI calculate cut off marks?

FCI calculates the cut off marks based on the following factors:

Number of Vacancies: The fewer the vacancies, the higher the cut off, and vice versa. Usually, FCI invites around 15 times the number of vacancies for the Phase 2 exam.

Difficulty Level of Exam: A more challenging exam might result in a lower cutoff, and vice versa.

Number of Candidates Appearing in the Exam: It will affect the cut off as FCI needs to narrow down a large number of candidates to 15 times the number of vacancies for the Phase 2 exam. Hence a large number of candidates means a higher cutoff.

I just scored the FCI AG 3 Phase 1 cut off marks. Can I make it to the final list?

Yes, you can. FCI AG 3 Phase 1 is just a qualifying exam. This means scoring at or above the cut off allows you to proceed to Phase 2. Your Phase 1 score doesn’t factor into the final selection. The final selection depends on your performance in Phase 2.

Is there any interview round?

No, there is no interview round. Your selection depends on your performance in Phase 2.
