IBPS PO pay scale increases by ₹2,000 every year in the initial stage. So the IBPS PO basic pay increases by ₹10000 after 5 years.

After 5 years:

What is the Leave Policy for IBPS PO?

IBPS PO officers are entitled to multiple types of leave every year.

Casual Leave (CL)

  • 12 days per calendar year

  • In the first year, CL is credited on a pro-rata basis (1 day per completed month)
  • Can be taken for a maximum of 4 continuous days
  • Holidays and weekly offs can be prefixed/suffixed, but total absence cannot exceed 6 days
  • Cannot be combined with any other type of leave

Unavailed Casual Leave (UCL)

  • Unused CL gets converted into UCL
  • Can be used only on medical grounds
  • Can be accumulated for up to 3 years
  • Only 1 UCL without a medical certificate is allowed
  • Can be combined with any leave except CL

Privilege Leave (PL) / Earned Leave

  • Earned at 1 day for every 11 days of active service
  • Becomes available after completing 11 months of service
  • Normally allowed up to 4 times in a year
  • Must be applied at least 15 days in advance
  • Can be accumulated up to 270 days
  • Encashment on retirement is limited to 240 days
  • PL on medical grounds can exceed 4 days with a medical certificate

Sick Leave (SL)

  • Granted at half pay
  • The maximum limit is 18 months (540 days) during the entire service
  • Can be converted to full-pay sick leave, but double the number of days is debited
  • Up to 10 days per year allowed without a medical certificate
  • Can be combined with other leaves except CL

Maternity Leave

  • Up to 6 months at a time
  • Maximum 12 months during the entire service
  • Available even during probation
  • Covers:
    • Childbirth
    • Miscarriage/abortion (with medical certificate)
    • Hysterectomy (up to 60 days)
    • Legal adoption of a child below 1 year
    • Surrogacy cases

Paternity Leave

  • 15 days
  • Applicable to male employees with less than two surviving children
