What are the passing marks for the JAIIB exam?

You must score at least 50 marks in each subject to clear the JAIIB exam. You’ll also pass the JAIIB exam if you score 200 or more marks and 45 or more in each subject in a single attempt.

Does the JAIIB exam have a negative marking?

No, there is no negative marking in the JAIIB exam.

Is the JAIIB exam conducted in a single day?

No, the JAIIB exam is spread across 4 papers, each held on a separate date.

How many attempts are allowed for the JAIIB exam?

You can appear for the JAIIB exam up to 5 attempts within 3 years and keep the credits of your cleared paper/s for subsequent tries. However, if you exhaust all 5 attempts and the 3 years end, you’ll need to re-enroll, and your previous credits will expire.

How many times is JAIIB conducted in a year?

The JAIIB exam is conducted twice a year in two cycles:

  • May-June Cycle
  • October-November Cycle
How many papers are there for the JAIIB exam?

The JAIIB exam includes these 4 papers:

  • Paper 1: Indian Economy and Indian Financial System (IF and IFS) 
  • Paper 2: Principles and Practices of Banking (PPB) 
  • Paper 3: Accounting and Financial Management for Bankers (AFM) 
  • Paper 4: Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM)
Can we use a calculator in the JAIIB exam?

Yes, candidates can use a battery-operated portable calculator in the examination. The calculator can be of any type, with up to 6 functions and 12 digits.

Note.  A scientific calculator is not allowed. Also, using any other type of calculator that does not comply with the above specifications or has more features than mentioned above shall be considered equivalent to cheating.

How many questions are there in the JAIIB exam?

There are 4 papers in the JAIIB exam, and each paper includes 100. So, in total, there are 400 questions in the JAIIB exam.

Are there any JAIIB grace marks?

No. As mentioned by IIBF, the JAIIB exam includes MACQs-based questions and the results are evaluated using an I.T. package, there is no provision for granting grace marks.

What are the JAIIB exam shift timings?

Each paper of the JAIIB exam is conducted in three shifts:

Shift 1:

  • Reporting Time: 08:00 AM
  • Exam Time: 08:30 AM to 10:30 AM

Shift 2:

  • Reporting Time: 10:45 AM
  • Exam Time: 11:15 AM to 1:15 PM

Shift 3:

  • Reporting Time: 1:30 PM
  • Exam Time: 2:00 AM to 4:00 PM
What is the JAIIB exam language?

You can attempt the examination either in Hindi or in English. However, you should clearly indicate your choice of medium at the time of registration. In any case, you won’t be able to change the medium at a later stage.

What are the JAIIB passing marks in the second attempt?

The passing marks remain the same for individual papers regardless of the attempt .i.e.

  • At least 50 marks in each subject.
  • Or, at least 200 or more marks in total and 45 or more in each subject in a single attempt.
