Emotional and mental well-being during exam preparation, Managing stress, Negative self-talk, Doubt and Guilt, Panic and Anxiety, and Depression.

If you have somehow landed on this page and find yourself looking for answers here, then you must have, at some point in life, experienced issues concerning your mental and emotional health.

In the life of an aspirant, these issues become prominent, recurrent, and concerning.

Preparing for competitive exams can be a struggle. We say this because we’ve been through that rollercoaster ride too.

No one was there to help us when we were struggling, and that is precisely the reason why we decided to start this page in the first place.

We fought through those tough times, all alone. But we cannot imagine you facing it by yourself. So, here we are, right by your side.

While preparing for any exam, what you see, and what everyone sees is just physical health deteriorating. That is just the tip of the iceberg.

But what takes the biggest hit is your emotional and mental well-being. And sadly, no one warns us about that.

This aspect of health which is mostly overlooked or brushed under the carpet is usually what leads to long term issues.

We do not intend to shy away from it. We are here to discuss it and that too in detail.

Discussed in this space will be all the possible emotional and mental health issues faced by students under extreme stressful and competitive environments.

So how do we plan to take this forward?

Do we have answers to all your queries?

How do we plan to help you in your emotional and mental well-being, being a coaching institute?

Aren’t we supposed to just focus on teaching and providing notes?

There’s no straight-forward answer to any of these questions.

We don’t know how we’ll take this forward.

No, we obviously don’t have answers to all your queries.

But we do know what you are going through and we know, that we need to do something about it.

Let’s now take a look at some of the core areas that need attention. These are mainly the major issues that arise when we think about emotional and mental well-being. Some of the concerning issues are:

Stress is one of the most common emotions during any exam preparation. Pressure, whenever it hits us in life, stress is the most natural response. Then comes irregular sleep cycles, aches and pains, feeling of uneasiness and even headaches.

1. Stress

Stressful situations are a reality whether or not you are preparing for an exam. What we need to learn is how to handle it, manage it, which schools or society never bothered to talk about.

Don’t worry! We bring to you a host of techniques which will help you calm your nerves in this world that is always ready to push you to the edge.

2. Negative Self Talk

We were never taught how to talk to ourselves. That is the reason we have a habit of criticising ourselves even for the smallest mistakes we make in our day to day lives. It is time to cut yourself some slack.

No one will love you and be kind to you if you don’t learn to love yourself and be kind to yourself.

A very simple hack for this is to talk to yourself like you would talk to a small child or a loved one. It comes with practice. But it’s a game-changer.

Many more such hacks and practical techniques will be talked about in this section.

3. Doubt and Guilt

Self-doubt and guilt can be some of the hardest emotions to deal with. You might very often question yourself whether you’re doing enough, whether you’re on the right track, or whether you have it in you to face the challenge ahead. Guilt also doesn’t hold back and often creeps in when you try to take a break or give yourself time to rest and reset, making you feel like you’re not doing enough to achieve your goals.

We are here to remind you that these feelings are completely normal and you don’t have to beat yourself up or feel guilty for taking that much-needed break.

You do have to remember that rest isn’t a luxury, but a necessity.

Just like your body, your mind also needs time to recover. So, give yourself permission to take breaks, to recharge, and to be kind to yourself.

More on this here.

4. Panic and Anxiety

While stress is often a response to a particular trigger, anxiety on the other hand, tends to stick around. This in-turn creates a constant state of worry, restlessness, and fear. And for some people, this may further lead to panic attacks— a racing heart, shortness of breath, and many other overwhelming emotions.

We will discuss it here in detail. Including ways to deal with them.

5. Depression

When the exam pressure is just too much to handle, you feel you are losing yourself under an invisible burden. And in no time, feelings of sadness and hopelessness become a constant and make you start feeling depressed.

If you do relate to any of these emotions, the only thing you need to know is that you are not alone, and these feelings don’t ever have to define you.

Let’s understand more about it here.

The topics shared above are just some of the things that need to be addressed. After having talked to and truly listened to hundreds of students over the years, these were some of the concerns that we felt were troubling almost all the students, in some way or the other.

We will talk about all these topics in detail here, and help you address them in the best possible manner.

We want to see you move towards your goal step-by-step, every single day.

And remember, success isn’t just about how many hours you study or how much you know—it’s about how you show up for yourself, even on the tough days.

So take care of your mind, acknowledge and accept your emotions, and remember that every step you take is a step closer to reaching your goals.

If we are able to bring some positive change in your lives, we will consider it our success, our biggest win!
