RBI Grade B exam eligibility includes age limit, educational qualification, nationality, and number of attempts.
Age Limit for the RBI Grade B 2024 Exam
Age for the RBI Grade B 2024 exam is calculated as of the 1st of July 2024. The minimum and maximum age limits for the unreserved or general category are 21 years and 30 years, respectively.
Educational Qualification for the RBI Grade B 2024 Exam
You need to be a graduate in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) OR a post-graduate in any discipline with a minimum of 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) in aggregate of all semesters/years.
Nationality Requirement for the RBI Grade B 2024 Exam
You should be an Indian citizen or subject of Nepal/Bhutan to be eligible for the RBI Grade B 2024 manager exam.
Number of Attempts in RBI Grade B 2024 Exam
Candidates belonging to General Category/EWSs, who have already appeared six times for the RBI Grade B Phase 1 exam in the past are not eligible to apply. However, no such restriction applies to SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates.

RBI Grade B 2023 Exam Analysis
The overall RBI Grade B 2023 exam was moderate to difficult. Phase 1 cut-offs reached a record low of 54.25 marks out of 200 in 2023. Similarly, Phase 2 cut-off also decreased, with a cut off of 161 marks out of 300 in 2023. RBI introduced new lengthy, statement-based question formats, making them more time-consuming. All these trends suggest that the exam’s difficulty level is increasing year by year.

The overall RBI Grade B 2022 exam was moderate to difficult. Phase 1 and Phase 2 cut-offs were lower than the 2021 exam. Additionally, the number of statement-based questions increased, which required more time to solve than traditional question formats.

RBI Grade B 2024 Salary
An RBI Grade B officer enjoys a competitive salary and various allowances that add up to a handsome amount.
Salary of RBI Manager
The annual CTC of a Manager at RBI is around ₹28 lakhs, making it one of the highest pay packages available to government employees.
The starting basic pay for Grade B officers in RBI is ₹55,200 per month. Allowances like house rent allowance (HRA), dearness allowance (DA), etc. are added to this amount to arrive at the gross salary of ₹14 lakhs per annum.
This is the bare minimum, an RBI Grade B officer also gets various allowances on a monthly and annual basis.
Monthly and Annual Allowances of RBI Officer
An RBI Grade B officer gets some allowances monthly that sum up to around ₹12 lakhs per annum and some allowances on an annual and biennial basis, which constitute to an amount of ₹2 lakhs per annum.
Adding all these components, i.e., the gross salary of ₹14 lakhs per year, monthly allowances of ₹12 lakhs per year, and annual allowances of ₹2 lakhs per year, an RBI Grade B manager gets approximately ₹28 lakhs per annum as a new joinee.
