Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is there a sectional cut off in RBI Grade B?

Yes, there is a sectional cut off in the RBI Grade B Phase 1 exam. You need to clear the cut off of each subject—GA, Quant, English, and Reasoning—along with the overall Phase 1 cut off. However, Phase 2 does not have any sectional cut off.

How does RBI calculate cut off marks?

RBI calculates the cut off marks based on the following factors:

Number of Vacancies: The fewer the vacancies, the higher the cut off, and vice versa. Usually, RBI invites around 15 times the number of vacancies for the Phase 2 exam and 3 times the number of vacancies for the interview stage.

Difficulty Level of Exam: A more challenging exam might result in a lower cutoff, and vice versa.

Number of Candidates Appearing in the Exam: It will affect the cut off as RBI needs to narrow down a large number of candidates to 15 times the number of vacancies for the Phase 2 exam. Hence a large number of candidates means a higher cutoff.

I just scored the RBI Grade B Phase 1 cut off marks. Can I make it to the final?

Yes, you can. RBI Grade B Phase 1 is just a qualifying exam. This means scoring at or above the cut off allows you to proceed to Phase 2. Your Phase 1 score doesn’t factor into the final selection. The final selection depends on your performance in Phase 2 and interview.

Are there any cut off marks for the interview round?

There are no cut off marks for the interview round in the RBI Grade B exam. However, the final selection is based on your combined score from Phase 2 and interview. So, make sure you also perform well in your interview.
