Beginning Of Amit Kumar’s RBI Grade B Journey

Amit is a simple boy from Jharkhand. He did his B.Tech from a good college and, like many of us, started preparing for government exams. But his path was not straight. He left his job to prepare full-time

Sometimes, when you are at home for so long, you start to feel a little worried, right? People ask questions, and you don’t have an answer. Amit felt that too. He wanted to do something big, not just get any job. He was looking for personal growth, a life where he could keep learning.

But the journey to that big dream was filled with small, difficult steps.

RBI Grade B: When Exam Preparation Felt Tough

Before clearing RBI, Amit faced many difficult days. He gave so many exams and sometimes missed clearing them by just 1 or 2 marks. He was trying so hard, but the final result was just not coming.

He was also unemployed. He had left a good job, and now, with no new job, the worry was growing. Did he make a mistake? Was he wasting his time? These questions used to come to his mind too.

But what kept him going? It was a simple thought that changed everything for him.

RBI Grade B: Amit Kumar’s Big Shift In Mindset

Amit shared a beautiful thought with us. He lived by Mr. Ratan Tata’s rule, which said:

“Slow success builds character, fast success builds ego.”

This thought helped Amit stay calm. He stopped looking for shortcuts or feeling bad about his long journey. He realized that every single day of struggle was teaching him something valuable. It was making him stronger. He started seeing his journey not as a waste of time, but as a time of building his character.

With this new, calm mindset, let’s see how he planned his studies for just 3 months.

3 Months RBI Grade B Preparation: Smart Study Plan

When Amit started his RBI preparation, he only had 3 months. He couldn’t study everything. So, he decided to study smart, not just hard. Here is his simple plan that you can also follow.

RBI Grade B Phase 1 Strategy

This is how he handled the first big step.

  • For Quant and Reasoning: Amit knew these sections were tough. So, his goal was not to score high, but just to clear the cutoff. His main strategy was selecting the right questions. He said solving a question is only 40% of the job; selecting it is 60%. He practiced looking at mock tests and deciding which questions to do and which to leave. He focused only on easy topics that could help him clear the cutoff.
  • For General Awareness (GA): Amit did not just read one magazine. He tried to be aware of what was happening around him. He read newspapers and listened to news debates. He said, “You don’t have to recall the answer, you just have to recognise it.” When you read and listen every day, the information stays in your mind, and you can easily pick the right option in the exam.

RBI Grade B Phase 2 Strategy: Strong Basics And Simple Answer Writing

Here’s his plan for the main exam.

  • Static First, Current Affairs Later: Many students jump directly to current affairs. But Amit says that’s like painting a wall before building the house! First, he spent 10-15 days understanding the basic static concepts of Economics and Finance. Once his basics were strong, understanding current affairs became very easy.
  • Understanding, Not Rote Learning: For a subject like Management, many people just try to mug everything up. Amit focused on understanding the concepts. He made short, simple notes. This helped him a lot because the exam paper was analytical, and only those who understood the concepts could answer well.
  • Simple Answer Writing: For descriptive answers, he did a very clever thing. He would first write the main points. If the word limit was not met, he would go back and add one extra line or one example to each point. This made his answers look complete and well-structured without any extra stress.

But the real test of his character came during his interview.

RBI Grade B Interview Experience: Honesty That Won Hearts

Amit’s interview was one of the most interesting parts of his journey. He was very nervous, but what happened inside was beautiful. At one point, a panel member asked him a tricky question about a disagreement between the Finance Minister and the RBI Governor.

Amit simply and honestly said, “Sir, I am not aware of this issue… but I think they must have consulted each other because they are stakeholders in the economy.” Hearing this simple, respectful answer, the entire panel started laughing! At first, Amit got scared. Did he say something wrong? But their laughter was warm. From that moment, the tone of the interview became very friendly and supportive.

Then, the chairman asked him a very deep question: “Should we eliminate all superstitions in society? Answer in yes or no.”

Amit thought for a moment and said, “No, sir.” He then explained beautifully that faith and logic are different, and as long as a belief doesn’t harm anyone, it gives people hope and moral strength.

The panel was very impressed. This shows that in an interview, they are not just checking your knowledge, but your character and how you think.

This beautiful journey was not fought alone. He had some unseen heroes by his side.

Family, Friends, And EduTap: Support System For RBI Grade B

Amit says that his parents were his biggest support. They never put any pressure on him.

“You just focus on your studies, we will handle everything else.”

This mental peace is a very big gift, isn’t it?

His friends also helped him a lot. They kept him motivated and even shared study materials with him. It was through a friend that Amit got EduTap’s Management summary sheets and current affairs magazines. He also watched Kritika Ma’am’s free RBI Circular videos on YouTube and made detailed notes from them.

This shows that you don’t always need expensive things to succeed. Good friends, a supportive family, and the right free resources can do wonders.

So, what can you, my dear friend, learn from Amit’s beautiful journey?
