HRA applies to those individuals who live in rented accommodations and incur monthly rental payments. SBI provides housing accommodation to its officers. However, if SBI officers are unable to obtain housing through SBI due to a lack of available units, they are entitled to receive an HRA of 15% of their basic pay.

Is the SBI PO salary enough for living in Mumbai?

The gross salary of an SBI PO is around ₹11.64 lakh per annum, which is sufficient to live comfortably in Mumbai. Moreover, with additional allowances, you can have a decent standard of living in Mumbai.

Can an SBI PO take leave during the probation period?

Yes, an SBI PO is allowed to leave during the probationary period.

Can an SBI officer resign during the probation period?

Yes, an SBI PO officer can resign during probation, but they might need to give some advance notice (14 days) before the resignation is official.

Is there any bond in SBI PO?

Yes, there is a bond period of 3 years. All the selected candidates must sign a bond of ₹2 lakhs to serve the bank for at least three years.

Do SBI officers get pension?

Yes. SBI officers do get pension. 

  • Officers who joined after the National Pension System (NPS) implementation will receive their pension under the NPS. 
  • Officers who opted for the earlier pension scheme will receive a fixed monthly pension based on their salary at the time of retirement. This pension amount is subject to periodic adjustments for DA to account for inflation.
Can SBI PO officers avail of a housing loan?

Yes, SBI PO officers can get a housing loan at a lower rate of interest to purchase a house/flat, construct a new house, renovate the existing house, or transfer an existing housing loan. However, you need to complete the probation period to avail yourself of this benefit.
