SEBI Grade A 2024 eligibility criteria include age limit, educational qualification, nationality, and number of attempts. Here is a quick way to check your eligibility for the SEBI Grade A 2024 exam.
Age Limit for the SEBI Grade A 2024 Exam
Age for the SEBI Grade A 2024 exam is to be calculated as of 31 March 2024. The minimum and maximum age limits for the unreserved or general category are 21 years and 30 years, respectively.
Educational Qualification for the SEBI Grade A 2024 Exam
For the general stream, you need to have a master’s degree/postgraduate diploma* (minimum two years’ duration) in any discipline OR a bachelor’s degree in Law/Engineering from a recognized university OR CA/ CFA/ CS/ Cost Accountant.
*(Equivalent to a Master’s Degree in that discipline as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities).

You should be an Indian citizen to be eligible for the SEBI Grade A 2024 exam.

SEBI Grade A Salary
A SEBI Grade A officer enjoys a competitive salary and various allowances that add up to a handsome amount.
Salary of SEBI Grade A Officer
The annual CTC of an assistant manager at SEBI is around ₹23 lakhs, making a handsome package in the government sector. The starting basic pay for Grade A officers in SEBI is ₹44,500 per month. Allowances like house rent allowance (HRA), dearness allowance (DA), etc. are added to this amount to arrive at the gross salary of ₹18 lakhs per annum.
This is the bare minimum, a SEBI Grade A officer also gets various allowances on a monthly and annual basis.
Monthly and Annual Allowances of SEBI Grade A Officer
A SEBI Grade A officer gets some allowances monthly that sum up to around ₹2.5 lakhs per annum and some allowances on an annual and biennial basis, which constitute to an amount of ₹2 lakhs per annum.
Adding all these components, i.e., the gross salary of ₹18 lakhs per year, monthly allowances of around ₹3 lakhs per year, and annual allowances of around ₹2 lakhs per year, a SEBI Grade A assistant manager gets approximately ₹23 lakhs per annum as a new joinee.

In this case, click on the “Recruitment of Officer Grade A (Assistant Manager) 2024 – General Stream, Legal Stream, Information Technology Stream, Research Stream, Official Language Stream, and Engineering (Electrical) Stream.”

Carefully read the notification to understand the eligibility criteria and other details, and click on the “Online Application Link” link.
Step 5
If you’re a new user, register with your basic details and create an account. Click on the “Click here for New Registration” to initiate the process.
Step 6
Fill in the required details accurately in the application form. It is a 6-step process mentioned below:
- Basic Info: Candidates are required to provide basic personal information
- Photo & Signature: Upload scanned copies of your photograph and signature
- Details: Enter personal details and educational qualifications

SEBI did not conduct the exam in 2023. The result for the SEBI Grade A 2022 Phase 1 exam was announced on 25 February 2022 and the Phase 2 result was announced on 7th April 2022. Upon becoming a SEBI Grade A officer, you must undergo formal training at the NISM (National Institute of Securities Markets) campus. It is situated approximately 50 km from Mumbai in Patalganga.
