Age Limit for the SEBI Grade A 2024 Exam

Age for the SEBI Grade A 2024 exam is to be calculated as of 31 March 2024. The minimum and maximum age limits for the unreserved or general category are 21 years and 30 years, respectively. 

Educational Qualification for the SEBI Grade A 2024 Exam

For the general stream, you need to have a master’s degree/postgraduate diploma* (minimum two years’ duration) in any discipline OR a bachelor’s degree in Law/Engineering from a recognized university OR CA/ CFA/ CS/ Cost Accountant.

*(Equivalent to a Master’s Degree in that discipline as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities).

Nationality for the SEBI Grade A 2024 Exam

You should be an Indian citizen to be eligible for the SEBI Grade A 2024 exam.

  • Paper 1 consists of 4 subjects, each carrying 20 questions where each question is worth 1.25 marks and you have 1 hour to complete the paper. 
  • Paper 2 consists of 50 questions covering 6 subjects worth 100 marks where each question is worth 2 marks and you have 40 minutes to complete the paper.

A SEBI Grade A officer enjoys a competitive salary and various allowances that add up to a handsome amount.

The annual CTC of an assistant manager at SEBI is around ₹23 lakhs, making a handsome package in the government sector. The starting basic pay for Grade A officers in SEBI is ₹44,500 per month. Allowances like house rent allowance (HRA), dearness allowance (DA), etc. are added to this amount to arrive at the gross salary of ₹18 lakhs per annum. 

This is the bare minimum, a SEBI Grade A officer also gets various allowances on a monthly and annual basis.

The majority of SEBI Grade A officers are initially posted at SEBI’s headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra. While SEBI does maintain regional offices in several key locations across India, including Delhi, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, and others, these offices have a relatively smaller workforce. As a result, the probability of being posted in your preferred region is relatively low.

Transfer Policy of SEBI

The opportunity to be transferred to a regional office may arise after approximately five years of service. Nevertheless, such transfers are rare due to the limited number of available options and positions.

How to Apply for the SEBI Grade A 2024 Exam

Follow the below-mentioned steps to apply for the SEBI Grade A 2024 Exam.

Step 1

Visit the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s Official Website, i.e., https://www.sebi.gov.in/.

Step 2

After navigating to https://www.sebi.gov.in/, the homepage will be displayed. Scroll down the homepage and find the section labeled “Career” at the bottom. Click on this section to proceed.

Step 3

Find and click on the official SEBI Grade A notification for the specific year you are applying for. In this case, click on the “Recruitment of Officer Grade A (Assistant Manager) 2024 – General Stream, Legal Stream, Information Technology Stream, Research Stream, Official Language Stream, and Engineering (Electrical) Stream.”

Step 4

Carefully read the notification to understand the eligibility criteria and other details, and click on the “Online Application Link” link.

Step 5

If you’re a new user, register with your basic details and create an account. Click on the “Click here for New Registration” to initiate the process.

Step 6

Fill in the required details accurately in the application form. It is a 6-step process mentioned below:

  1. Basic Info: Candidates are required to provide basic personal information 
  2. Photo & Signature: Upload scanned copies of your photograph and signature
  3. Details: Enter personal details and educational qualifications
  4. Preview: Carefully review all the information provided before proceeding
  5. Upload: Upload scanned copies of your left thumb impression and handwritten declaration.
  6. Payment: Pay the required application fee through the provided payment gateway using a debit/credit card, net banking, IMPS, or other payment options.

Step 7

After completing the SEBI Grade A registration, log in with your credentials. 

Step 8

Check your payment status. Make sure it indicates “paid”.

Step 9

Download the application or take its print for future reference.

Step 1

Fill in the required login credentials such as registration number, date of birth, etc., enter the captcha code, and log in. 

Step 7

Download your SEBI Grade A Phase 1 admit card.

SEBI Grade A Result

SEBI did not conduct the exam in 2023. The result for the SEBI Grade A 2022 Phase 1 exam was announced on 25 February 2022 and the Phase 2 result was announced on 7th April 2022. SEBI Grade A Training

Upon becoming a SEBI Grade A officer, you must undergo formal training at the NISM (National Institute of Securities Markets) campus. It is situated approximately 50 km from Mumbai in Patalganga. This comprehensive training program typically spans 4 to 8 weeks, with daily sessions from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
