Is the SEBI Grade A exam conducted every year?

No, SEBI does not conduct the Grade A exam every year. In the last few years, the exam was conducted in 2018, 2020, 2022 and 2024.

Is the application process for the SEBI Grade A exam online or offline?

The application process for the SEBI Grade A exam is conducted online only. Candidates need to submit their applications through the official SEBI website.

Are final-year students eligible for the SEBI Grade A exam?

Yes, final-year students are eligible for the SEBI Grade A exam. However, you need to submit the necessary documents of the final term/semester/year examination at the time of your joining.

Does SEBI favour candidates who have prior working experience?

SEBI prefers candidates with desirable work experience for Engineering (Electrical) and Legal posts. For the remaining posts, SEBI selects Grade A officers based on the performance of aspirants in the exam.

Is the SEBI Grade A exam Bilingual?

Yes, all question papers (except the English Language test) are set in both Hindi and English, allowing you to choose your preferred language for answering.

Do SEBI Grade A officers get salary during training?

Yes, SEBI Grade A officers receive full salary during their training period.

Is there any probation period for SEBI Grade A officers?

Yes, there is a 2-year probation period for a SEBI Grade A officer.

Is there any correction window, if I make a mistake in the application?

When you are filling out the form, SEBI gives you a correction window to verify the details you entered into your application form before the final submission. Once submitted, you cannot make any changes to your application form. Therefore, you must take time and check your details very carefully before finally submitting your application form.

What are the backlog vacancies in SEBI Grade A. How does SEBI fill them?

If there aren’t enough qualified candidates (usually within the PwBD categories) in a particular recruitment cycle, such vacancies may be carried forward as backlog vacancies. There isn’t a separate process to fill backlog vacancies. These vacancies are included in the total vacancies announced in the next recruitment cycle.
