Age Limit for the SIDBI Assistant Manager Exam

The age limit for the SIDBI Grade A Exam 2025 is as follows:

  • Maximum Age: 30 years
  • Candidate must be born between 14 July 1995 and 15 July 2004 (both dates inclusive)

Educational Qualifications for the SIDBI Grade A Exam

You must have any one of the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree (minimum 60% marks or 50% for SC/ST/PwBD) in:

  • Commerce
  • Economics
  • Mathematics
  • Statistics
  • Business Administration
  • Engineering

2. Company Secretary (CS), Certified Management Accountant (CMA/ICWA), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)

3. Chartered Accountant (CA)

4. Two-year full-time MBA/PGDM in any discipline from a UGC/Government-recognised university or institution

5. Graduation after Class XII with a 3-year duration (should have obtained minimum 60% marks or 50% for SC/ST/PwBD) if done from a UGC/Govt. recognised institute

6. Post-graduation of at least 2 years duration after graduation

Note: Final-year students are also eligible to apply. They must produce final mark sheets and certificates at the time of joining if selected.

Work Experience

Not required for candidates applying with either:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • MBA/PGDM (2-year full-time)

Mandatory for all other eligible educational qualifications: Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in any of the following:

(A) Credit dispensation roles in:

  • All India Financial Institutions (SIDBI, NABARD, NHB, EXIM Bank, NaBFID)
  • Scheduled Commercial Banks (SCBs)
  • RBI-registered NBFCs

OR

(B) Core functional roles in:

  • Investment/Merchant Banking (SEBI-registered)
  • AIFs (SEBI-registered)
  • Asset Reconstruction Companies (RBI-registered)
  • MSME-focused subsidiaries of SCBs
  • Project management in consultancy firms of national stature (with 10+ years’ experience in government or digital lending-related projects)

Combined experience across (A) and (B) is also acceptable.

Nationality for the SIDBI Assistant Manager Exam

To be eligible for the SIDBI Grade A (Assistant Manager) recruitment, a candidate must fall into any one of the following categories:

1. Citizen of India, or
2. Subject of Nepal, or
3. Subject of Bhutan, or
4. A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from the following countries with the intent to permanently settle in India:
Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka
East African countries: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam

Important Note:
If you fall under categories (2), (3), (4), and (5), you must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

You can appear for the SIDBI exam and interview provisionally, but your appointment will be confirmed only after you submit the required eligibility certificate.

SIDBI Grade A Pattern 2025

The latest SIDBI Grade A pattern includes:

1. Phase 1: Online Objective Test
2. Phase 2: Online Descriptive (Answers to be typed using Keyboard) and Objective Test
3. Phase 3: Interview

SIDBI Grade A Phase 1 Pattern

The updated pattern of SIDBI Grade A Phase 1 will be a completely objective test and a qualifying paper. The marks obtained in Phase 1 will not be considered in final selection.

Candidates who clear Phase 1 move on to Phase 2, which is a mix of objective and descriptive papers.

It includes two papers:

So, the total marks for Phase 2 come to 200 marks, with a combined time duration of 210 minutes.

If you clear Phase 2, you’ll be shortlisted for the final stage which is the Interview round.

Before the actual interview, you’ll have to take a Psychometric Assessment. This test is purely diagnostic in nature. No marks are assigned to it.

Once the assessment is done, you’ll face a 100-mark personal interview.

You can choose to give the interview in either English or Hindi, depending on your preference.
