What is the Leave Policy of a SIDBI Grade A Officer?

1. Casual Leave & Special Casual Leave
- Casual Leave: Up to 15 days per calendar year for personal reasons, short absences, or minor unforeseen needs. No more than 7 days can be taken at a stretch, and combining with public holidays cannot extend total absence beyond 10 days. Total (casual + special casual) leave cannot exceed 30 days per year. Unused casual leave lapses at year-end.
- Special Casual Leave: Granted in special circumstances (e.g., quarantine, injury during duty, participation in recognized sports or official associations, or other exceptional needs). May exceed the usual casual leave limits for valid reasons.
2. Ordinary Leave (Earned Leave)
Accrued at 1 month for every 11 months of duty. Can be accumulated and availed as extended paid vacation, with a maximum limit of 10 months at a time. Earned leave not used can be encashed at retirement (up to 10 months’ pay).
3. Sick Leave
For medical reasons, up to 18 months during total service (may be extended in special cases). Usually granted on half-pay, but up to 9 months can be on full pay after 3 years’ service. A medical certificate is required for sick leave over 4 days.
4. Special Leave
For personal affairs requiring prolonged absence (up to 12 months during service), or if suffering from a serious disease and eligible leave is exhausted. Usually on half-pay, dropping to quarter-pay after six months of service.
5. Extraordinary Leave
Unpaid leave is given when all other leave types are exhausted and only in exceptional situations (up to a maximum of 12 months during the entire service). May be combined with other leave types. This period usually does not count for salary increments unless sanctioned due to unavoidable circumstances.
6. Maternity Leave
Up to 6 months per instance, maximum 12 months during the service, for female employees. Fully paid. Can be combined with other leaves on medical grounds.
7. Accident Leave
Granted, if an employee is injured during the course of duty (including official tours). Granted for the period certified necessary by a doctor. First four months are fully paid; beyond that, on half-pay.
8. Child Adoption Leave
Female employees adopting a child below one year (with less than two surviving children) can get up to 6 months’ paid leave at the time of legal adoption. Can be combined with other leaves except Casual, Special Casual, and Special Sick Leave.
9. Paternity Leave
For natural or adoptive fathers (with less than two children), 15 days’ paid leave. This can be availed up to 15 days before and up to 6 months after childbirth or adoption. Can be combined with other leave (except Casual, Special Casual, and Special Sick Leave).
