UPSC EPFO Age Limit and Relaxation 2026

• The age for the UPSC EPFO EO/AO and APFC exams is calculated as of the last date for submission of the online application.

Important Points About UPSC EPFO APFC Age Relaxation

• The age limit is calculated as on 11 September 2026, the last date to apply. The maximum age is 35 years for UR/EWS, 38 years for OBC and 40 years for SC/ST candidates.
• Ex-Servicemen and Commissioned Officers, including ECOs and SSCOs, get 5 years of age relaxation. For Ex-Servicemen, at least 6 months of continuous Armed Forces service after attestation is required as on 11 September 2026. ECOs and SSCOs must also meet the release-related conditions given in the notification.
• Central/UT Government employees can get up to 5 years of age relaxation if they have at least 3 years of continuous government service in the same or an allied cadre and their previous service is relevant to the APFC post. They must submit the prescribed certificate issued after the date of the advertisement.
• For reserved candidates who are also eligible as Central/UT Government employees, the relaxation can be counted cumulatively. This means up to 8 years for OBC candidates and up to 10 years for SC/ST candidates in the applicable cases.
• EPFO employees can get up to 5 years of age relaxation.
• PwBD candidates can get 10 years of age relaxation. When combined with category-based relaxation, this becomes up to 13 years for OBC and 15 years for SC/ST candidates. However, the candidate’s age cannot exceed 56 years on the closing date.
• To claim PwBD age relaxation, the candidate generally needs at least 40% disability, and the APFC post must be identified as suitable for the relevant disability category.

1. a citizen of India, or
2. a subject of Nepal, or
3. a subject of Bhutan, or
4. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
